Life is…

Sometimes I wonder: what am I?
I look at the stars and feel very small;
just a tiny consciousness.
But if I were as tall as a planet,
I would still be short in comparison to the universe.

I see a person twice my size
and I feel weak and fragile.
But if I were strong and powerful,
I would still not be invincible.

I see a painting by the hand of a genius,
and I feel inexperienced and ignorant.
But if I were the greatest artist alive,
it would not make me love what I do any more or less.

I see blood, running from the wound of another,
and I feel a chilling fear from deep within.
But if I walked this earth with bravery,
it would not make things less dangerous.

I see a baby, innocent and naive,
and I feel cynical and jaded.
But if I saw through untainted eyes all my life,
it would not make the world a better place.

I see a raindrop, tear of the sky,
and I feel ugly and unsightly.
But if I were as beautiful as rain,
it would not make me crystal clear inside.

There are children with cancer,
mothers who lose their babies,
people who are worse off than dead.

I wonder if I am just lucky or if the world was cruel.
But even if the world was kind or if I were dying, too,
there would still be suffering.

I weep all night, I get nightmares,
I lose myself thinking of such things.
But even if I could right every wrong,
if I could run faster
or jump higher
or be stronger,
it would not make me better or happier.

With what I have, I’ll do what I like
and like what I do.
Life is good.

How to love a girl who can’t love herself.

When she cries herself to sleep
six out of seven nights a week you must
say nothing. You must simply take
her in your arms and kiss her gaunt,
pale cheeks and wait for her to
slumber at the sound of your heart.

On the days where she wishes she
were part of the stars, tell her
no. Tell her that there are too many
lights in the sky and that just one
would be forgotten the moment you looked
away from it. Tell her that she is perfect
the way she is: completely human.

Don’t let her think about the scars
that no one but her can see. If she
says “I think I’m broken” smile like you
know a secret and say, “No, you’re mending.”
But do not be the one to fix her – no, she
must be the one to do it herself, and you
merely are there to quietly encourage her.

Read her poetry (even if you are
not a poet), the kind that uses
flowery words and compares girls to
the moon; the kind that you will
rewrite for her. Make her a warrior.
Make her a goddess with eyes like a
wolf’s and a smile like a tiger’s.

Laugh with her the first thing in
the morning and the last thing before
you fall asleep. Tell her cheap puns
that you’ve been thinking of for weeks.
And when she smiles – the type of smile
that could bring you to your knees if
you aren’t careful – know that for the
moment, she’s yours. She is whole.

Love her. Love her like a fish loves
the sea or a bird loves the sky. Love
her in the way that your heart feels like
it’s going to burst at any moment every
time it beats. Love her skin and the way
it feels against your own, soft and warm
and utterly flawless. Love her for the way
her voice trembles when she can’t keep it
together anymore and love her when she
holds onto you as if you were the only
thing that was keeping her alive.

Love her, because some days she just can’t do it herself.

Life is a journey from birth to death and like any other journey, it occurs in a series of events. Time passes by and we find ourselves on a new phase before we can even comprehend the end of the one we had just lived! The journey has its ups and downs – at times we feel like time couldn’t have been better and at times, even the purpose of being alive remains lost on us.Different events have different effects on us – some affect us drastically while others simply wave at us as they pass by. These events are like pebbles – each having a different shape, a different color, a different size and together they join to draw a path in front of us which we tread during the journey of life.

My mother

My mother is simple
yet very sweet

She’s so kind
someone you’d want to meet

Even though i cause her misery
she will always love me

The one who was there
to help me grow

And because of this
it led me to know

That she’s my mother
and there’s no other

and i love her

Happy Mother’s day Mom

Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day,
For all mothers out there,
A time to relax and enjoy,
Having your family so close,
And loving all the moments.

For this is your day,
Celebrate and treat yourself well,
For all have done so much for your children,
You are an angel sent by God,
To bless the children,
And show them the way.

God bless mothers,
From around the world.

I’m lost in a map…

It seems to be that this world is just trying to be better at being better… I’m here just watching people try and be an individual… I’m here seeing people die, and leave this world. Just dying to be free… Because death is freedom, right?… Why don’t we all die? Why do we stay here and suffer? The suffering… Man and religion… beliefs and thoughts… MY belief and thoughts… All contradict each other in this grinding stone… compromises? The person sacrificing what they think is right to satisfy other concepts….. I don’t like to think.. It brings up past pains… depression… But it feels good.. Does that make sense? to feel pain is good… So that you know what DOESN’T feel like pain? Sad to be happy? anger to feel guilt? How could we skip to the good part?….. Well it’s because there really is no positive without a negative… I don’t know… I’m just this boy, with problems, confused of what he’s suppose to be, to what he wants to be… but then there’s a problem there…. He DOESN’T know what he wants to be… an engineer? some manager?… artist?… yeah… to be an artist is what he wants… to express feelings through the humanism senses.. sight, touch, smell, taste, listening.. ESPECIALLY listening.. MUSIC is him…. music…..

Some thoughts that keep bugging me everyday.. What do you think of it? It’s not really meant to be about anything.. just thoughts…

The Ultimate Gift… of Life

Somewhere in life we think that our inheritance is going to be the gift of money and lots of it. Well are we in for a big surprise.

Let me take you on an improbable journey of discovery, having to answer the ultimate question: “What is the relationship between wealth and happiness?”

Based on the best-selling book “The Ultimate Gift” by Jim Stovall, Jason Stevens had a very simple relationship with his impossibly wealthy Grandfather, Howard “Red” Stevens. He hated him. No heart-to-heart talks, no warm fuzziness  just cold hard cash. So Jason figured that when Red died, that his Grandfather would leave him money which will allow him to continue living in the lifestyle to which his used to and accustomed to. But Red had another plan for Jason to experience a crash course on life. He gave him twelve tasks, which was called “gifts,” challenging Jason in an improbable way, the accumulation of which would change him forever.

Life is simply not just about money, living a wealthy and organised lifestyle. To have the ultimate gift of life, you need to earn it. By earning it, you have to experience a crash course on life and receive a serious of gifts. “Gifts” of work, money, friends, learning, problems, family, laughter, dreams, giving, gratitude, a day and love – to which will challenge you to a journey of discoveries.

The person who might have hurt you the most in life – might give you the ultimate gift of life. A serious of gifts might come along your way in order to pursue the ultimate gift.

* Gift of work – Finish a job to be done. Work hard and you can do anything.

* Gift of money – Spend it on someone who might have financial problems and by putting yourself in their shoes. To find out that your friend is diagnosed with cancer to give a helping hand on his/her bills.

* Gift of friendship – I need a friend is easy to say, but what is the real meaning behind friendship? You can have a friend of any age and you might meet a friend that can change your view of life entirely.

* Gift of Learning – Do you truly know how to learn? I think that there is so much more to discover and learn.

* Gift of Problems – You don’t start living until you haven’t lost everything. You have to encounter problems and learn from them in order to realise how much you actually have.

* Gift of family – Share your love with family. Be supportive and listen to what they have to say, you might just found the gift of a happy family.

* Gift of laughter – It is great to laugh and the best medicine ever. Laughter needs no words.

* Gift of dreams – You need to be free to dream. You need to come up with a dream and act on it. Even if you don’t have your own dream yet, you can help to fulfil others’ dreams.

* Gift of giving – If you give, you will receive back.

* Gift of gratitude – A ‘thank you’ will bounce back to you.

* Gift of a day – Spend a day in your life with someone you love and fulfil their dreams and wishes. They might just have ‘a day’ to live.

* Gift of love – After this journey of discoveries, you might found the gift of love for the person who you hated the most and who hurt you the most in life.

Why women cry?

A little boy asked his mother, “Why are you crying?” “Because I’m a woman,” she told him. “I don’t understand,” he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, “And you never will.” Later the little boy asked his father, “Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?” “All women cry for no reason,” was all his dad could say. The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry. Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, “God, why do women cry so easily?” God said, “When I made the woman she had to be special. I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort. I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children. I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining. I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly. I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart. I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him un-falteringly  And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed.” “You see my son,” said God, “the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart – the place where love resides.”

True happiness

Over the last couple of months, I have learned new life-long lessons

When I was younger, I never thought about serious things. I just thought that somehow my life would have no complications. I know, how naive. But I always thought that everything would be perfect in my life and I would always be happy. Now, I know how stupid those thoughts were, but I also know how everyone in this world wants a life that has no complications, no hurt, no suffering, no pain. I believe no matter how evil a person is, a person only wants happiness out of their life. But some people never find that happiness, which eventually leads the person to feel so empty and hopeless that they end up hurting themselves or others. It is truly sad to think that some people never find true happiness because they gave up. People give up because there is no meaning in life if you don’t find true happiness.

By true happiness, I don’t mean temporary happiness that money, sex, drugs, alcohol, or other things bring. I mean happiness that comes from simple things. Happiness that comes from loving someone so much that you would give up your life for them, or spending time with your family. Or being nice to someone. This will probably sound corny (heck, this whole thing is corny) but there is no words to describe the feeling you get when you do something good. To me, it is a blessing to experience true happiness. Everyone has different ideas of happiness, but once you experience true happiness, everyone gets the same feeling, which of course is happiness.

But the road to true happiness isn’t easy. At all. But as someone always said to me, the tough things in life make you stronger. During tough times, you certainly don’t think that way, but it’s true. When you look back at all the hard times in your life and how upset you were, I think all of us think to ourselves “Why was I so upset?” Whether you like it or not, the tough times in life are essential to finding true happiness.

But remember in the end, all the awful people in your life lead you to meeting the loved ones in your life. I hope everyone lives life to fullest and finds their true happiness.
